“It was unfortunate. That was kind of an interaction with our fans out in front of us,” Jones stated during a Tuesday interview. “Present was a large group of Cowboys fans—not Jets fans, Cowboys fans. The whole venue was brimming with excitement for the Cowboys.”
He further emphasized that the signal was completely unintentional, occurring amid the elation following the team’s last score. “I just put up the wrong finger,” he noted. “It was inadvertently performed. This is sincere. Should you call it accidental, you can. However, it got corrected rapidly.”
